Sun Moon Lake and around

During the semester break between the second and third semester, I went on another ‘explore Taiwan’ trip on my own again. The travel itinerary: the first day taking a bus from Taipei to Puli, which has a very big, interesting Buddhist monastery nearby and where the monks gave me the contact details of a similar congregation in Taipei; then the bus to Sun Moon Lake, one of the tourist hotspots of Taiwan (especially for \\\"mainlanders\\\", as confirmed by my roommate); the next day biking around Sun Moon Lake and at the end a bus to Checheng; last day taking a historical train via a couple of small towns, then biking around Jiji (the last small town on that route), to end up around dinner in Taizhong and then back to Taipei.
